I smile as I sit down in the booth, elation and shame washing over me.
She's still here.
Her name is Aleia Robin Wright. She's now 28 years old. She hasn't seen me in 12 years.
I wonder how its been. . .
I'm 19 years old.
I can't believe she's still here . . . yes I can.
My jacket is on, with my hood pulled up. She can't see my face. Good. Damn, she's been working at this diner since she was 16 years old . . . She waited . . .
12 years is a long time to wait for someone. But she did. And was.

Man in the MirrorThe mirror was still opaque with steam as I got out of the shower.Man in the Mirror
After I dried off and put on my shorts and shirt, I wiped off the mirror with my towel.
The face who looked back was better and worse.
I ran a hand through my hair and then dropped my hand from my face.
I smiled.
That face smiled.
"Hey", I thought. "You look good today . . ."

"You're pretty . . ."
"You know that?"
Still smiling . . . I nodded . . .

He goes to the bathroom, head throbbing, and uses it.
He flushes the toilet.
He turns around and walks to the mirror, a smile and a grimace both apparent on his face.
His hair is ridiculous, as is his face.
He thinks, Ill have to do something about that."

Surreal You Can't Believe ItHer name is Neela. Neela Ellis. She always comes by . . . She wears these hoodies. . . they're uh, soft powdery shades. Like baby blue. Soft pink. Stuff like that. I think she's uh . . . Pakistani or something like that. Some kind of Middle Eastern. But not a lot. You can just barely tell, but not much. I think her mom's white, but I'm not sure. She's a really sweet girl. She likes me, though I'm not sure why. She always uh stops by to sell us weed. It's pretty funny. It's always gift wrapped in what looks like these um little colored cellophane baggie things. I remember one time she stopped by and it looked like the military was outside, readSurreal You Can't Believe It

On our way we are spinning around.
Scattered fragments of time.
Like beams of the light we are.
That's all we are."
